Rev. John Henderson

Rev. John Henderson, Sr. received his call to ministry in 2002 while serving as a Deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Fort Mill, SC. Rev. Henderson relocated to York, SC and married his beautiful wife, Jennifer in 2003. The union of John and Jennifer brought him to New Home A.M.E. Zion Church, where he preached his initial sermon in 2005 under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Charles Darden. Rev. Henderson has served New Home in numerous capacities, with one being a minister. He has also rendered services as the Christian Education Director, Sunday School Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Vice President of the Trustee Board, and President of the Son’s of Varrick Christian Endeavors. Currently, Rev. Henderson facilitates the Prison Ministry at New Home. Rev. Henderson is ultimately passionate about serving God first and his community. He continuous strives to strengthen his education walk with God. Rev. Henderson attends Liberty University where he is seeking a double major in Religion and Education to ensure that he continues the will of God in order to enrich God’s people to further build the God’s kingdom.

Rev. Henderson and Jennifer have six children, April, John Jr., Shelton, Shannon, Jasmine, and Antonio Jr. and two grandchildren, Kynnedi and John.
